(m#l-\+`+N#p We discuss our own studies of molecular adsorption on and inside
yP U%s
id&b2k~7S of single-wall carbon nanotubes in the broader context of important NXeK S3?[Z5D
theoretical and experimental developments in the field. We show
!J/r:c7V3W0s3{6cP that adsorption in the nanotube interior sites as well as in the
$@(e'WA$N/T@*|:` groove and exterior sites may be resolved by various experimental
w)gIM8{b.V+\M methods. In addition, the changes that the adsorbate phasesDv IW3Wn
undergo due to confinement in the nanotube interior are discussed,
w4Y&|1n0F'dW6^ particularly focusing on confined molecules of water, alkanes, and'~t7A7Iw*p']/ak
an alkene. Attention is also devoted to the use of oxidizing agents
y d1\5c;G%dl!p5g3n such as ozone to open the ends and walls of nanotubes for interiorG,Iwz%O5[-L~S V*[
adsorption.
