.s(H~LD Mastery over the shape of a nanostructure enables control over its
9QY~ CgW1M properties and usefulness for a given application. By controlling
.N;i ~e6{3T0i)f the crystallinity of the seeds from which nanostructures grow and)C ^.l|;Z/[6~
the rate of atomic addition to seeds, we selectively produced
1ws4Vy!fkM pentagonal nanowires, cuboctahedra, nanocubes, nanobars, bipyramids,
|7H3Qu%h and nanobeams of silver with a solution-phase polyol
_A}p0a4Ft [Q8{(y synthesis. The example of nanobars illustrates how the shape of a4J9ig({^j6x
silver nanostructure affects the color of light that it scatters. We
