Job description: The project involves synthesis and characterisation of new multiferroic materials. It will take place at the School of Chemistry and Centre for Science at Extreme Conditions at the University of Edinburgh. It also includes the use of the European and UK neutron and synchrotron facilities. Prior experience of materials chemistry will be an advantage, but is not essential. The research will be supervised by Dr. Jan-Willem Bos and Prof. Paul Attfield.
A fully funded postgraduate studentship is available to EU (including UK) citizens. This is a three year award that covers all university fees and provides a tax-free living allowance at the standard EPSRC rate, currently £13,000 (approx.
