Job description: The Institute of Nanoscale Material Science and Engineering at the University of Arkansas seeks applications from highly qualified candidates having a strong background in the maintenance and operation of a Molecule-Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) lab that supports the growth and imaging of nitride, oxide, antimonic, and arsenic materials. The successful candidate must have the ability to plan and perform MBE/STM use, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and modification. The candidate must handle all associated operation and maintance tasks in the MBE
lab as well as train and supervise students and postdocs on the MBE growth and maintenance operation. The candidate must also supervise daily lab operation, planning and coordinating with suppliers, facility, and EH&S to ensure smooth operation. Applicants must have a PH.D. in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science, or a closely related field, as well as a demonstrated ability to work well in a cooperative group research environment. 5-10 years of experience in MBE UHV equipment is essential.
