Job description: Several PhD students/postdocs with a background in biophysics, molecular biology, physics or related disciplines are needed to join a newly formed Laboratory of Nanoscale Biology
(LBEN) at the EPFL. Highly motivated students and post doctorands will have an opportunity to elucidate complex motions, multiple interactions and generally, structural dynamics of complex molecular machines in vivo and in vitro.
The group will employ optical and magnetic tweezers, AFM,
single-molecule fluorescence and nanofabricated structures to
study biological systems.
Exceptional candidates are expected to show a strong interest in biology, biophysics, single molecule techniques, systems biology. Skills in single molecule techniques, training in molecular biology or cell biology are especially desirable. Additional experience in any of the following areas will be an advantage: optical
microscopy, protein expression/purification, cell culture, cleanroom processing, programming (LabView, Matlab). Proficiency in
spoken and written English is required.
