[color=blue]【纳米科技世界论坛快讯】Highly charged detonation nanodiamond particles have unexpected optical properties, according to research conducted at the International Technology Center, Raleigh, US[/color].
Olga Shenderova and her colleagues were surprised to find that the material was able to form photonic crystals (PCs) as the irregularly shaped particles were thought to be too polydisperse. The group uses a centrifuge method to fabricate its intensely iridescent structures starting with an aqueous suspension of nanodiamonds. Shenderova and her team believe that it should be possible to stabilize the PCs using polymer brushes or hydrogels, which would allow the structures to be exploited in photonic devices ([url=http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0957-4484/19/22/225201][color=#0000ff][i]Nanotechnology[/i] [b]19[/b] 225201[/color][/url]).
