Traditionally, EMI shielding has focused on the use of metals or conductive polymers, but these materials can suffer from corrosion or poor mechanical properties. The duo's spark plug sintered MWCNT-3Y-TZP composite, offers an EMI shielding effectiveness as high as 25–30 dB when formulated with 9 wt% of MWCNTs ([url=http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0957-4484/19/25/255707][color=#0000ff][i]Nanotechnology[/i] [b]19[/b] 255707[/color][/url])。
