Job description: The hadronic physics group at the College of William and Mary seeks a postdoctoral research associate in experimental hadronic physics. Close proximity to Jefferson Lab (15 miles) allows William and Mary to maintain a large research group with activity in all three experimental halls focusing mostly on nucleon structure studies through electromagnetic and parity-violating electron scattering. The candidate is expected to take a leading role in the execution and subsequent data analysis of a series of measurements in Halls A and B at Jefferson Lab using polarized beams and targets. The position includes opportunities to develop hardware for polarized targets and/or detector systems and software for data analysis. The candidate will be stationed full-time at Jefferson Lab, with occasional research obligations at the College of William and Mary, will be encouraged to develop research interests of his/her own, and may have the opportunity to teach if desired.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics, and a strong background in the hardware and data-analysis associated with experimental nuclear physics. The position is for one year initially, but may be renewed for up to two additional years upon mutual agreement.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position has been filled. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae and arrange for three letters of reference to the address above.
